Nurse supervisors are in charge of ensuring that their unit runs as smoothly as possible while also maintaining healthy work environment for their employees.
It is critical to have an excellent nurse manager on your team if you want to provide high-quality patient care.
Nurse managers are responsible for supervising nursing unit, guiding nurses, overseeing patient care, patient experience, clinical quality, and scheduling their employees.
They are usually in charge of scheduling meetings and making financial decisions.

Nurse managers are hard to come by since they are multi-faceted and require excellent organizational and governance abilities.
Nurse manager vacancy rates are on average around 8.3% nationwide, according to the American Organization of Nurse Executives (AONE).
As the baby boomer generation matures, the demand for nurse supervisors is expected to rise.
According to 2018 research by the National Council of State Boards of Nursing and The Forum of State Nursing Workforce Center, 50.9 percent of RNs are 50 or older.
To become qualified nurse manager, you’ll need years of bedside experience, and as these nurses retire, the demand for more experienced nurses to replace them will grow.

Nursing experience alone will not suffice to produce an excellent nurse management.
Many early to mid-career nurses can be developed into excellent nurse managers; the key is targeted leadership development.
Leaders do not appear out of nowhere.
They’ve been created.
Only small percentage of good leaders are self-made, but the vast majority are nurtured and guided.
So, who should you be working on?
